Our Commitment to Governance & Safeguarding

Doves Care & Support Ltd is a CQC-regulated provider. We are legally and morally obligated to protect the safety, dignity, and rights of every person we support. Our governance framework ensures that our practices are transparent, accountable, and continuously improving — in line with national legislation, CQC fundamental standards, and statutory guidance.

Safeguarding Adults

Doves Care & Support Ltd is fully committed to safeguarding adults in line with the Care Act 2014 and the statutory guidance “No Secrets”. We have a legal duty to protect adults who have care and support needs, and who may be at risk of abuse or neglect.

Definition of an Adult at Risk
An adult at risk is any person aged 18 or over who has care and support needs, and who is experiencing, or is at risk of, abuse or neglect — and as a result of those needs is unable to protect themselves from the risk of abuse or neglect.

Our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is responsible for overseeing all adult safeguarding matters. All concerns are reported to the relevant Local Authority Safeguarding Adults Board (SAB) and, where required, to the police and CQC without delay.

Types of Abuse

Physical, emotional, sexual, financial, neglect, self-neglect, domestic abuse, modern slavery, discriminatory, and institutional abuse.

Our Duties

Report, refer, and protect. We act on all reasonable concerns — even if the individual does not consent to a referral where there is serious risk.

Training

All staff complete Level 2 safeguarding adults training at induction, with annual refreshers for frontline staff and Level 3 for managers.

Making Safeguarding Personal

We ensure the individual's wishes and outcomes are central to any safeguarding enquiry or response.

Safeguarding Children

The welfare of children is paramount. Doves Care & Support Ltd fulfils its safeguarding duties in relation to children and young people in accordance with Working Together to Safeguard Children 2023, the Children Act 1989 & 2004, and Keeping Children Safe in Education 2023 (where applicable).

We work closely with Local Authority Designated Officers (LADO), children’s social care teams, health professionals, and police where required to ensure the safety of any child who may be at risk.

Our Safeguarding Children Principles
Every child has the right to grow up safe from harm. Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, and we act on all concerns — however minor they may seem. Early intervention is key.

Our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is responsible for overseeing all adult safeguarding matters. All concerns are reported to the relevant Local Authority Safeguarding Adults Board (SAB) and, where required, to the police and CQC without delay.
